Some plans have a clear time: a meeting tomorrow afternoon or a draft due on Friday. Others are simply things you want to get to, such as finishing a book or organizing photos. Requiring a date, time, and reminder for every intention can make capturing it feel like another task.
Released on April 19, 2026, DottieNote 2.0 focuses on two moments: getting started and looking back after finishing. The first benefits from less form-filling. The second deserves a record that means more than a number of minutes.
Capture the thought first
Smart voice input identifies times, dates, and repeat rules in natural language. Saying that you want to read for half an hour tomorrow evening, then reviewing the result, can be closer to how you think than moving between several separate fields.
Spoken instructions can be ambiguous. Before saving, take a moment to check the recognized date and recurrence, then adjust anything that differs from what you intended.
Anytime plans hold tasks without a fixed time. Save a book you want to read or photos you want to organize, then make time for them later. The quick-add panel also brings task type, duration, and reminders into one place.
Keep a record that feels personal
A completed focus session represents time spent on something specific. Version 2.0 adds the Fruit Garden and Interstellar Voyage planet collections, along with updated unlock feedback. Share cards turn completed tasks, planets, and universe progress into images to keep or share.
These additions continue DottieNote's use of collection and visual feedback to record effort. Looking back can show more than accumulated minutes: the things you spent time on and a personal record that has grown along the way.
Connect the everyday entry points
The release introduces iCloud sync and improves NFC sticker detection and binding, widget date displays, and navigation around the universe. Date handling, time zones, and compatibility with older data are also part of the update.
Those details matter when viewing records on another device, checking dates after travel, or upgrading from an older version. Improved VoiceOver screen-reader support and Dynamic Type text scaling also make reading and interaction more accessible.
Begin with one small task
If you are new to DottieNote, start with one thing you want to do today and a focus session that fits. Use an Anytime plan when there is no fixed appointment, then return to the record afterward.
This article revisits the 2.0 release. Later versions continue to refine sync, timing, and NFC behavior; the official changelog records those changes.
