Handing a development task to an agent should not require watching the terminal until it finishes. Stepping away should not mean losing track of the work, either. Is it still running? Does it need more information? Is the next step consistent with what you asked for?
Released on August 9, 2026, Tactic Remote 1.9 adds Factory Droid support. Droid executes on your Mac, Linux, or Windows development machine. You use an iPhone or iPad to read output, add instructions, and respond to requests in the session.
A new agent in a familiar workspace
Tactic Remote began with remote control for Claude Code and expanded to tools including Codex and Amp. Choosing another agent should not require giving up the mobile workflow you already use.
With Droid in the same workspace, you can select a project directory, start a session, read terminal output, and add instructions as work progresses. You can also switch between projects, branches, and agent sessions. Git worktrees are separate working directories for the same repository, so you can modify and test different branches in their own directories.
Compatibility includes the moments before work begins
Adding a launch option is not enough to support a command-line agent. Droid may start with an update prompt, sign-in step, directory-trust question, or mode selector. Sending a queued task into one of those screens would put it in the wrong place.
The integration recognizes those startup states and waits until the session can accept input before sending queued work. Session identifiers are retained for switching and recovery, keeping output and follow-up instructions associated with the same task.
Stay involved when a decision is needed
One useful pattern is to assign a bounded change, step away, then check its progress. If the work needs a different direction, add a constraint or ask the agent to finish a particular step first. Execution stays on the original machine while the phone keeps you involved.
Before starting another long task, you can check current Droid account usage in the app. The provider sets billing and quota rules; the usage view gives you information to plan the next task.
Before connecting
Install and sign in to the Droid CLI on your development machine, then configure the Tactic Remote connection. Reviewing changes, running tests, and approving consequential actions remain part of the job.
